New Mexico’s Native Heritage Trail is our state’s most expansive Scenic Byways. It is practically a reenactment of a network of trade routes used by people for thousands of years. A loop that will lead to a complete journey of New Mexico’s Four Corners region also known as Indian Country. NM Scenic Route 53 is the southern section of this large scenic byway. From Grants to the Pueblo of Zuni is the path called The Ancient Way Scenic Route 53.
